Lectors |
At each mass, the readings and psalms are proclaimed by one of the lectors. New readers are always welcomed and should contact Stan Wall in the first instance. A copy of the latest lector's schedule is available from the Parish Office or from this link. (This is an Adobe PDF file for which Adobe Reader is required to read the file. Adobe Reader is a free software and is available from Adobe or from Colin Bryce)
Notes on how to read at our masses can be found here. |
Welcoming Group |
This is often the first official welcoming person of the community and usually the first representative of the parish those coming to mass will meet. They will greet worshippers at the door of the church, make them feel welcome and usher them to available seats. They are the ‘face’ of the parish at the door and can always be called upon to answer questions.

Knights of St Columba |
The Knights of St Columba (KSC) is a national organisation of Catholic men giving their loyalty to the Holy See, the Hierarchy and the Clergy in all things related to the Catholic Faith. The Knights serve God by serving others in practising the fundamental virtues of Charity, Unity and Fraternity.
Park Gate Council 620, operates in the parish of St Margaret Mary. It is a dedicated group of Catholic men who work within the the parish and support local and national charities.
The Council is also concerned with the ongoing material and spiritual welfare of members and their families. The monthly Council meeting, which is structured around prayer, is preceded by Mass or a Eucharistic Service.
In addition to the activities above, the KSC brings to the attention of the parish, local and national issues of concern to all Catholics.
Further information can be obtained from the Group Coordinator below.

The St Margaret Mary Hall, Paray Room and St Margaret Mary Room |
The Hall is a fantastic asset belonging to the parish. It is used after each 10.15 mass to allow parishioners to meet and have a cup of tea or coffee. During 10.15 mass, it accommodates the younger children for their liturgy. Many other groups use the hall (respect 2000, brownies, rainbows, pre-School Liturgy). With a well equipped kitchen, it can provide facilities for receptions, discos and parties.
St Margaret Mary Room is a small room which forms part of the Hall and, like the hall, is used for children’s liturgy (more generally, the pre-school liturgy use this room). It provides more privacy and, like the hall, can be booked for meetings with the advantage of being able to use the kitchen facilities of the hall.
The Paray Room is our newest addition and is part of the new church development. It is used by many church groups and is used on Sundays for children's liturgy.
